You could never to something like this when I first showed you GIMP 
The segal is added well as is the horse. The wings have a slight black lining to them and could probably be blended to to the horse a bit more. back-close leg looks pretty good but the back-far leg is cut a bit to sharply/at the wrong angle.
The front far leg could have an overlay to make it look like its partly in the water/wave.
The reflection of the front legs is a nice touch.
Keep at it I think, Id like to see what your making a year down the line!
